About the Discord Boost Cost Calculator

Discord server boosting is the platform's way of crowdfunding server perks. Members of a server can spend $4.99/month per boost, and accumulated boosts unlock progressively better features for the whole community. This calculator shows what a target server tier will cost, broken down with and without Nitro discounts.

The Three Boost Tiers

Level 1 (2 boosts): 50 custom emoji slots (up from 50 base), 720p 60fps screen sharing, server invite background, animated server icon. Cost: $9.98/month.

Level 2 (7 boosts): 100 emoji slots, 1080p 60fps streaming, custom server banner, 50MB attachment uploads for everyone in the server, custom role icons. Cost: $34.93/month.

Level 3 (14 boosts): 250 emoji slots, vanity URL (discord.gg/yourname), animated server banner, 100MB upload limit. Cost: $69.86/month.

Should You Buy Nitro to Boost?

Discord Nitro at $9.99/month includes 2 free server boosts (worth $9.98) plus a 30% discount on additional boosts you buy. So if you're going to boost at least 2 boosts, Nitro essentially pays for itself just on the boost discount alone. If you boost more, the math is strongly in Nitro's favor.

Crowdfunding Boost Costs

Most large Discord servers rely on multiple community members each contributing one or two boosts rather than one whale paying for the whole tier. To incentivize this, server admins often grant booster-only roles, custom colors, exclusive channels, or shoutouts. Level 2 (7 boosts) is the sweet spot for servers with 200+ active members who actually use voice and stream channels. Level 3 (14 boosts) is for established communities where the vanity URL and animated banner pay for themselves in branding.
